We will explore Dancing Musicality which refers to a dancer’s ability to hear, interpret, and express music through their movements. It’s about understanding the rhythm, melody, and nuances of the music and translating those elements into dance. Dancers with strong musicality move in a way that feels synchronized and connected to the music, making their dancing more engaging and expressive.
• Learn to capitalize on opportunities by understanding musical phrasing, and sync yourself in to the soul of a song.
• Learn to pick the right style of dance to certain types of music; and learn to “borrow” moves from one style of dance and apply it to another.
• Learn uncommon turns and “moves”
• Learn “Beyond Lead and Follow”
We will cover:
• Swing
• Rockabilly
• Funk
• Shuffle
• Slow (Night Club)
• Waltz Strategies
• Zydeco
• Pony
